WEBRTC Webrtc is used for online streaming for f.ex. online phone calls. For some reason, when a page that is using that protocol, even in stand-by, forces the frequency of the CPU of the macbook to max levels. Here is the example of what I mean. So when you have connected both the external monitor that uses the discrete GPU – AND use some website that utilizes the WEBRTC protocol, even in stendby, you will get fans spinning and high temperatures. Battery is also drained substantially faster than when using just f.ex. youtube. Youtube playback in 1080p uses 10% of what WEBRTP uses in standby mode.
